In partnership with The Summers’ Life Creative and funded by the Government of Canada and Province of British Columbia, Nurturing Play and Beyond: Middle Years Child Care Fundamentals, Principles & Practices was created to address the gap in accessible, high-quality, holistic training for early childhood educators, early childhood educator assistants and school-age educators working with school-aged children.
This course equips early childhood educators, education assistants and school-aged educators with practical tools to elevate their practice. The course also fosters a culture of lifelong learning, child care advocacy and the advancement of care for children and families throughout B.C.
The course is offered over a four-week period, with six hours of self-led course material per week and a two-hour facilitated session at the end of each week. Participants will receive a certificate for a total of 27 professional development hours.
With support from the BC Early Years Professional Development Bursary, the course is now available for $55, compared to the original price of $270.
The following cohorts are now available for enrolment:
- Cohort 7: June 7 – June 28, 2025
- Cohort 8: August 9 – August 30, 2025
