We invite you to join with us and with allies across Canada to support $10aDay child care with 10 days of action – November 20 – 30th.
The Ten Days of Action for $10aDay Child Care give us an opportunity to highlight the benefits of high-quality $10aDay child care for children, families, women’s equality, communities and the economy.
There has definitely been measurable progress in B.C. but licensed child care spaces are still in short supply, waitlists keep growing, fees remain unaffordable for too many families, and educators still earn low wages for their important work.
The Ten Days of Action for $10aDay Child Care are grassroots actions that celebrate child care. There are many ways to be involved and make child care visible. Here are a few examples:
- Make signs that will be visible in your community
- Wear a $10aDay button or t-shirt
- Send a Postcard to the Premier (available in 4 languages)
- Invite politicians to visit child care programs (newly elected MLAs, MPs, Mayor & Council, Chief & Council, School Board Trustees)
- Have a different theme each day or profile a different person each day.
- Include post-secondary students in your events
- Engage with diverse allies in your community
- Enter our competition on Tik Tok and Instagram (prizes for the best videos)
- Participate in the grandparents for child care campaign (send us your grandparent photos)
- Treat educators in a child care program to a special lunch or $10aDay cake
- Post and share on social media – hashtag #10adaychildcare

We’re launching a Postcard to the Premier campaign. Postcards available in English, Spanish, Chinese and Punjabi.
We have packages of swag (stickers, buttons, chocolates, posters, info sheets, etc.) to mail out to those who would like to participate. Just let us know where to mail your package.
Social Media Videos
“10 Days of Action for $10aDay” – a dedicated push to raise awareness and drive engagement for affordable childcare on social media.
November 21st to November 30th, we will be trying something new for us on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook with short videos with $10aDay lyrics to This Little Light of Mine!
And we will need your help to drive engagement. We need you to join the conversation, spread the message, like, comment, share, and most importantly, participate by creating a video. We are in the process right now of designing the video campaign so we can achieve the highest possible participation.
We will also be sending out a media release across BC on November 20th and an email to all $10aDay supporters encouraging action.
We hope you’ll find a way to participate in whatever way you can – and that you’ll send us your photos and use the hashtag to help amplify $10aDay momentum across the country.
